OiNKPlus 12: MySpace Player Fixed

As you may have noticed, MySpace changed their player code and thus breaking the player within OiNKPlus. Luckily, gondaba, an OiNKPlus user, came up with a fix before I could even put my hands on this issue.

Before you go ahead installing the new version:
How much would OiNKPlus be worth for you?
- In February I have some time on my hands and I want to improve OiNKPlus to be a stand-alone extension for Firefox and to significantly broaden the number of supported sites. I would like to ask for your financial support.

OiNKPlus 11: MySpace Player Updated, New Sites Supported

So it looks like MySpace is going to change their player like panties, while I'm on holidays and such. This is why it took some time to fix the player. Sorry for that. At least it seems to me, that the poor sound quality has been improved.
On another note, site support for Acid-Lounge, Rockbox and Shellife/My Bloody Tracker has been added. As per request, I also included new links to RateYourMusic and Youtube.

OiNKPlus featured on FileShareFreak, gaining popularity

On September, 17th, a comprehensive article about OiNKPlus was featured on FileShareFreak.com. It's a very good read and does a pretty good job in explaining new users, what OiNKPlus is about. So, if you would like to recommend it to some of your friends, point them to that article.
In the past, OiNKPlus had also been featured on TorrentFreak.

Personally, I feel very honoured, that OiNKPlus is covered by these major and also on many other, smaller sites. It's very motivating and keeps this project alive. Just for the record, each update of OiNKPlus is installed by an impresive 1500 - 2000 users within the first days after a release. 18 months ago, when, for the first time, Alan (for those who don't know, he is the respectful guy behind the legendary OiNK tracker) mentioned OiNKPlus on the OiNK frontpage, I wouldn't even have dreamt about the fabulous story evolving since then. Shortly after the frontpage post, the forum thread about the new kid in town - OiNKPlus - had over 1000 enthusiastic replies!

OiNKPlus ver10: MySpacer & Last.fm player fixed

Update 2: Again, MySpace made some funny changes to their player (indeed, it's a completely new player this time), so I have to update OiNKPlus accordingly. I'm on holidays till Sunday, an update will follow then.

Update 1: Just a few days after release of OiNKPlus version 9, MySpace made a small change to their player code resulting in the player to not show up. This is fixed with version 10.

Additionally as of version 9 , OiNKPlus will work with the new Last.fm site structure, so the player will show up again. The appeareance of OiNKPlus has been cleaned up to better embed in the supported sites. SSL on What.cd is supported now.

OiNKPlus 8: Torrentz.com support, some fixes

This release will add early support for Torrentz.com. It also adds support for https , supports artist pages and fixes the display of OiNKPlus (all on What.cd).

Update: I'm aware that the Last.fm player isn't showing up and that's due to their site's update. As I'm in exam period until 11th of August, I cannot fix this ATM. Bear with me, a fix will follow. Additionally, Last.fm also released a new API which will remarkably speed up the time to display artist information.

7.0: Gazelle ready

This release will ensure support for Gazelle, the amazing baby by the What.CD guys. It's a minor release which also fixes a small bug with ThePirateBay and a rare issue with the MySpace player. In other words:

I'm glad to announce the immediate stable release of OiNKPlus 4.0, which derived from the previously announced beta. This release fixes bugs, most importantly the lag issue. Everything should run smoothly now. Also, some new sites are supported. Upgrading is strongly recommended.

Beta release, lag problems fixed, new sites supported

Interesting times lately: A lot of users reported lags while browsing their torrent sites with OiNKPlus enabled. This finally has been fixed. A lot of users report smooth browsing behavior now, caching had to disabled for this. Thanks everyone, especially lhnz for the feedback.

The new beta release, which will become the final version, if no new bugs are reported, has quite a few fixes and supports a bunch of new sites, see the details:

New multi site enhanced version of OinkPlus available

Update 2007/11/20: What.cd support has been fixed. You may need to clear your browser cache to be redirected to the new version, though.

A new version of OinkPlus is available. This has some nice new features, including enhanced artist browsing, a search bar, new external links and a lot of under the hood improvements like caching, less ressource consumption and heavily improved privacy. The support for stmusic.org has been fixed (sorry guys for neglecting you for so long, I have been busy lately) and Libble.com as wells FunkyTorrents have been added to the gang of supported sites. See the changelog below for details.

Install the latest version here, as always make sure you have Greasemonkey installed and activated. Scroll down for information on this.

OiNKPlus was a popular extension to OiNK that even made it to the front page. That script made discovering new music, streaming samples and finding related artists easy as never before.
